1. Used as a multipurpose desiccant, such as for drying gases like nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen, hydrogen chloride, sulfur dioxide, etc. Used as a dehydrating agent in the production of alcohols, esters, ethers, and acrylic resins. Calcium chloride aqueous solution is an important refrigerant for freezers and ice making, can accelerate the hardening of concrete and increase the frost resistance of building mortar, and is an excellent antifreeze agent for construction. Used as an anti-fog agent at ports and road dust collector, and as a fabric fire retardant. Used as a protective agent and refining agent in aluminum-magnesium metallurgy. It is a precipitant in the production of pigment lakes. Used in waste paper deinking processing. It is a raw material for producing calcium salts.

6. Mainly used to treat tetany caused by hypocalcemia, urticaria, exudative edema, intestinal and ureteral colic, magnesium poisoning, etc.
7. Used in the food industry as a calcium fortifier, curing agent, chelating agent, and desiccant.
8. Can increase the permeability of bacterial cell walls.
